After the historical costume ball
The Historical Costume Ball Drag Show Fashion Pageant Spectacular was to die for. People were dressed in 1830s costume, roaring 20s costume, and even Edwardian costume. But the best costume was the late Victorian Teagown worn by me, Miss Tyffanie Morgan. Yes, I’m biased. I think I wore the best outfit that night. And why shouldn’t I think it was the best outfit. It was crafted specifically for the event by the Agnes.
The ball was a culmination and celebration of the Patterns for All Bodies project. It saw drag artists Dare de LaFemme, Rowena Whey, and me (Tyffanie Morgan) work with local dress historians, dressmakers, and conservators, choosing our fabrics and embellishments. The ball was our chance to show how we would wear, accessorize, and perform the garments made for us.
