Tyffanie

Break out the glitter and cue the confetti—Tyffanie Morgan is a winner, baby! On January 27, 2025, this fabulous force of nature was officially recognized at the Mayor Arts Awards in Katarokwi/Kingston, Ontario, taking home the prestigious Creator Award 2024.

With family, friends, and fellow artists by my side, I celebrated this milestone in true diva fashion. Who would have thought that 25 years of drag excellence would lead to this moment? Well, dazzling audiences and championing the drag community for decades has certainly paid off!

And let’s talk about this magical video created in my honour (watch video)! Produced for the Mayor’s Arts Awards by the Kingston Arts Council and Josh Lyon, this stunning tribute is truly the icing on the cake. It beautifully captures the essence of my journey, my impact, and my unwavering dedication to the art of drag. Honestly, the video alone feels like a prize fit for a queen! It pulls my heartstrings every time I watch it.

A pillar of the Katarokwi/Kingston arts scene, I spent over 25 years uplifting the art of drag, fostering community, and empowering the next generation of performers. As Canada’s first podcasting drag queen, I’m the voice behind Breakfast with Tyffanie and co-host of What’s the Maple Tea? alongside Rowena Whey. Beyond the mic, I’m the mastermind behind DragShow.ca, a vital hub connecting drag enthusiasts across the country. Plus, my collaborations with organizations like ReelOut Queer Film Festival, Kingston Pride, Skeleton Park Arts Festival, and Agnes Etherington Art Centre further showcase my commitment to the arts and advocacy.

To say I am over the moon about this recognition would be an understatement—I’m floating on cloud nine! Thank you to my nominators, the Office of the Mayor of Kingston, the Kingston Arts Council, Josh Lyon, Branded to Film, The Agnes Etherington Art Centre, and everyone else who made this moment (and the incredible video) possible.

It’s the video! I love this video!
