a pop filter should help reduce the plosive sounds, though there’s only so much it can do.
I’ve got a commercial one, and I’ve wrapped a bit of quilt batting around it to make it a little thicker. It’s a bit of a balancing act — if you put too much padding on the filter, it attenuates other sounds as well. Too little and you still get some popping.
But it helps.
