Kingston Witches Walk

October 9 @ 5:00 PM

I’m organizing the annual Kingston Witches Walk this year. Fore more info, visit KingstonWitchesWalk.ca

Witches, wizards, warlocks, and magical beings of all kinds, the cauldron is bubbling once again!

Mark your calendars and dust off your pointy hats because the Kingston Witches’ Walk returns on Friday, October 9, 2026 for another enchanting evening of community, creativity, and a little bit of magic. Join hundreds of fellow witches as we gather together to celebrate the season, support a great cause, and transform downtown Kingston into a spellbinding spectacle. Inspired by the welcoming, community-focused spirit of the Kingston Witches Walk, the event continues its tradition of bringing people together through the Walk, the Dance, and the Spell while supporting local charities.

This year’s walk will once again support Kingston Interval House, and we encourage all attendees to bring a donation to help support the vital work they do in our community. Together, every step we take can make a meaningful difference. Kingston Interval House is the charity partner associated with the Kingston Witches Walk, continuing the event’s tradition of supporting women-focused community organizations.

Meet at Skeleton Park

Our magical gathering begins at the north end of Skeleton Park starting at 5:00 PM.

Bring:

  • Yourself
  • Your spirit(s)
  • Your coven
  • Your enthusiasm
  • Your curiosity
  • A donation for Kingston Interval House

As witches arrive, we’ll kick off the evening with games, dancing, and opportunities to mingle with fellow spellcasters before the magic truly begins.

The Dance

No witches’ gathering would be complete without a little dancing.

Before the Spell and before the Walk, we’ll come together as a community to perform the annual Witches’ Dance. Don’t worry if you’ve never participated before. The dance is designed to be easy, welcoming, and fun for witches of all ages and experience levels.

Whether you’re dancing with lifelong friends, your newly assembled coven, or simply following along with the crowd, the Witches’ Dance is one of the most joyful moments of the evening. It’s a chance to celebrate the creativity, humour, and community spirit that make the Kingston Witches’ Walk such a magical tradition.

So grab your broomstick, swirl your cape, and join hundreds of fellow witches as we dance beneath the autumn sky before gathering for the evening’s Spell.

The Spell

At 6:30 PM, we’ll gather together for our traditional community spell.

The Spell is one of the core traditions of the Kingston Witches’ Walk, bringing everyone together in a shared moment of intention, celebration, and community spirit before the walk begins.

The Walk Begins!

Following the Spell, participants are invited to take a casual walk with their covens through downtown Kingston.

There is no race and no required pace. Wander safely, connect, laugh, take photos, and enjoy the evening atmosphere. Whether you’re a seasoned witch or attending for your very first time, everyone is welcome.

Our destination is Confederation Basin, where witches from across the city will arrive after their magical journey downtown.

Ride the Ghost & Mystery Trolley

We’re thrilled to partner with Kingston Trolley Tours to add a little extra magic to the evening.

The Ghost & Mystery Trolley will be available to transport participants downtown if they prefer not to walk the full route. Following the event, the trolley will also help bring participants back to Skeleton Park.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a Ghost & Mystery Trolley experience without a taste of the mysterious and haunted stories that make Kingston famous.

Practical Magic at The Screening Room

The magic doesn’t end when the walk does.

After arriving downtown, witches are invited to gather at The Screening Room for a special presentation of the beloved witchy classic Practical Magic at 9:30PM (start time).

Whether you know every line by heart or you’re experiencing the magic for the first time, this cozy community screening promises the perfect ending to an unforgettable evening.

We’ll also be hosting a Coven Couture Contest, so don’t hold back when planning your outfit. Bring your most glamourous, mysterious, whimsical, gothic, spooky, or enchanting witchy attire for a chance to earn bragging rights as one of Katarokwi/Kingston’s most stylish witches.

Movie ticket purchase information will be announced in September.

Everyone Is Welcome

The Kingston Witches’ Walk is a joyful, non-religious, community celebration that welcomes people of all genders, backgrounds, beliefs, and experience levels. Whether you identify as a witch, simply love Halloween season, or just enjoy gathering with kind and creative people, there’s a place for you in our coven. The event describes itself as an inclusive, all-genders-welcome community celebration centered on the Walk, Dance, and Spell.

So gather your friends, summon your coven, and prepare for an evening of magic, laughter, community, and good deeds.

We can’t wait to walk with you on October 9, 2026.

Stay witchy, Kingston.
