Spring into Summer

Celebrate the sun’s rays and warmer days at Spring into Summer presented by Utilities Kingston! Join us for an incredible day of activities, live music, drag, food, fireworks and fun. 

Admission to this event is free.

When and where

Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Lake Ontario Park (920 King St. West), from 1 to 9:30 p.m.

What’s happening

There’s something for everyone: fireworks, stage shows, food trucks, bouncy castles, vendor market and more!

Vendors

  • Food trucks (1 to 9:30 p.m.)

    • Licensed / all ages
    • To purchase alcoholic beverages, you will need to present a government-issued photo ID
    • No outside alcohol is allowed

Getting there

Spring into Summer is a popular event and onsite parking is limited to a small number of accessible parking spaces. You can park nearby or walk, bike or ride Kingston Transit.  

Transit

Lake Ontario Park is accessible via Kingston Transit. Visit the KT Trip Planner to plan your route. Kids 14 and under can ride for free!  

Parking

The parking lot at Lake Ontario Park is reserved for accessible parking only. St. Lawrence College, located nearby, has a paid lot (HONK mobile) and street parking is available in neighbouring areas.  

Construction Notice

There is construction on King Street in front of Lake Ontario Park. Lane reductions may delay travel. 

What to bring

  • A reusable water bottle to fill up at the Water Buggy courtesy of Utilities Kingston
  • Lawn chairs or blankets
  • Bathing suits and towels for the splash pad
  • Cash or card (ATM will be available onsite and several vendors accept debit/credit) 
  • Government issued photo identification for beer garden 

Accessibility information

  • Lake Ontario Park is fully accessible. Some activities will take place on the grass. 
  • Accessible restrooms are available.
  • Portable restrooms are non-gendered.  
  • Water bowls will be available for guide dogs at the Special Events Office information booth.  

If you experience sensory overstimulation, Bloom Skills has a sensory space available across from the food trucks.

Weather

This event happens rain or shine. The event will only be cancelled if it becomes unsafe to be outside. Some activities may need to stop temporarily if it is raining but will start again when it is safe to do so.
